Contemporary Artists respond to the complex issues which shape our diverse, global and rapidly changing world. Viewers of Contemporary Art play an active role in the process of constructing meaning about the work and are challenged to set aside their preconceived notions and instead interact with the work as though in conversation, asking questions that ignite discussion, such as: “what does the work make me think about?”, “how do I relate to the work?”, “how does the work relate to historical narratives?” and other open-ended questions. These open-ended inquiries spark deeper engagement, challenge existing perspectives, and foster dialogue within a community.

Scalehouse Gallery

Scalehouse Gallery is a contemporary art space dedicated to the display and discussion of emerging and established contemporary artists with bold work representing a broad range of identities and perspectives. Supported by Scalehouse, Scalehouse Gallery is committed to programming that is accessible and provocative -- connecting audiences to boundary-pushing ideas and experiences with direct access to artists.
