Current Exhibit: Youth Art Takeover Featuring Bend La Pine Students

April 5, 2024 - April 24, 2024

First Friday Opening April 5, 2024 from 5-7pm

This exhibition, displayed in Scalehouse’s Annex Gallery and part of Scalehouse’s new Art Lab program, showcases local youth artworks and features a diverse collection of artworks spanning various mediums, styles and themes. The collection celebrates the artistic achievements of local Bend La Pine student artists, including Scholastic Art & Writing Award winning works; the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.

The exhibition is a part of the larger Downtown Bend Youth Art Takeover, held during April’s First Friday. Student works can be viewed at multiple locations on Friday, April 5th. An awards ceremony will also be held on Friday, April 5th at 6:30 pm at the Commons Café courtyard.

THE ANNEX: A Scalehouse Project located in the atrium of Franklin Crossing is the latest program from Scalehouse Collaborative for the Arts. Through an online application, artists will submit work and proposals. We’re delighted to support local artists with a space to show new works, gain experience and exposure in the field, and add to Scalehouse’s mission of building community around arts and culture events. ABOUT SCALEHOUSE ART LAB

In partnership with Julia Reynolds, art educator at Caldera High School and Bend La Pine Schools Arts (Educator) Liaison, Scalehouse is presenting a new pilot program, Scalehouse Art Lab Arts Education Program for both art educators and students in the Bend La Pine School District.

Scalehouse Art Lab Arts Education Program is an innovative initiative designed to empower and inspire both art educators and high school students through immersive contemporary arts education. By blending traditional techniques with new approaches, this program aims to ignite creativity, foster critical thinking, and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
