Stillness Creativity

Where do our best ideas really come from? Are they really “ours”? How can we understand, respect and leverage the power of “doing nothing” when it comes to doing anything? What’s more important – what we do or how we do it? And just what is “creativity,” anyway? Let’s find some stillness and consider these questions (plus a few more).

About Evan Fry:

As a copywriter, creative director and agency VP working with the world’s best, Evan Fry has learned how to make brands famous. After attending the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and working for ten years at various agencies in Portland and SF, in 2002, Evan’s perseverance to join the “creative big leagues” finally paid off, landing him with the disruptive thinkers at Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Over the next 12 years, Evan would literally win every creative award there is. Though there’s plenty more to his professional resume – including a three-year stint as CCO of an experimental agency built on crowdsourcing principles – his “life resume” has shaped him most. Through tough lessons, competitive cycling and dedication to “the practice,” he now values growth and relationship over accolade. Evan currently works as a freelance writer/creative director with Ideas for Animals, serves as a creative mentor, spends time in silence, enjoys precious moments with his amazing partner, loves to take walks and often makes mistakes.
